TRIP TO MARINA STATE BEACH!

During a stay at my girlfriend, Kory's, place last week, we decided to head out a few blocks by foot to reach the beach access. The day was already beautifully sunny, so it was a perfect occasion!

Photographer: Garett Thomas.

Here's the sign for Marina State Beach. There are several access points, but this one is lesser-known, and thus, less crowded.

It's just past the freeway overpass. In this instance, there's no car entrance/exit from it.

Here we are, Kory and myself, for you to see before she chokes me. It's a video still, and there are more of those at the bottom.

The fence, which had an entrance somewhere...

Aha, the entrance! Actually, it was blatantly easy to find this, but I had to write text.

After the minor foot path up the dune, we see the first of the Pacific.

Turning my head, I could see the hills nearby.

Looking outward, I could see the shore. I wanted to continue, but 50% of my group did not.

One of at least 2 or 3 hang gliders! Awesome.

No mousse and lots o' wind gives me electrohair!

Beautiful waves. Mesmerizing.

The birds! Love this shot.

Here's our paparazzi shot. You can see shadows over us from my jacket, which we were often huddled under to protect us from flying sand.

Feet comparisons. Interesting how I'm entirely covered, whereas Kory's entirely not! :-)

Cute couple shot. Then, it was time to head back.

If she had any longer of a tongue, she would be a giraffe!

We stopped under the freeway overpass so that I could empty my shoes of sand.

So much sand! It made for comfy soles, but still!
